Deal flow that asked for you first

For private equity, venture capital, family offices, private credit and independent sponsors.

Every company you are introduced to has already stated it is seeking a firm with your mandate. Every investor you meet has stated the same about you. Nothing is scraped, nobody is cold-contacted, and no list is being shopped to forty other funds at the same time.

Why this is different from a deal platform

Reciprocal, always. An introduction happens only when both sides have accepted. Declining is silent, so there is no cost to being selective and no signal sent by passing.
No inbox to pitch into. Nobody can browse investors, search for you, or message you first. The volume problem you already have does not follow you here.
Structured sectors. 112 industries in a proper hierarchy, selected rather than typed, so a thesis in vertical SaaS is matched precisely — not by whether two people happened to use the same word.
Confidential by default. An intent can be stated anonymously. Your thesis is matched without your firm's name attached until you accept.
Verified firms. A firm signed in from its own domain shows as verified, and members can add a government ID check. You see both before you accept.

Frequently asked

Deal flow and sourcing

How does Maelstrom generate deal flow for a PE firm?

You state your mandate — sector, cheque size, geography, control or minority — and we introduce you to companies whose owners have stated they are seeking exactly that. Nothing is scraped and nobody is cold-contacted: the company has already said it wants a conversation with a firm like yours before you ever see it.

Is this proprietary deal flow or a broker list?

Neither, strictly. Every company here posted its own intent rather than being listed by an intermediary, and introductions are reciprocal — the owner accepted you specifically. There is no fee-taking intermediary in the middle and no list that gets shopped to fifty firms.

Can I keep a search confidential?

Yes. An intent can be stated anonymously: counterparts see your position, mandate and criteria without your firm's name until you accept an introduction. That matters for a fund that does not want its thesis read by competitors.

Do you cover lower middle market and search funds?

Yes. Cheque size is a criterion rather than a gate, so a searcher writing a $2M cheque and a fund writing $200M use the same mechanism and simply match differently.

Investor-to-investor

Can I find co-investors for a deal?

Yes — that is a position in its own right. State that you are seeking co-investors with the sector and cheque size, and you are matched with other investors who stated the same. It is the one position that matches with itself. And when you lead a deal, you can offer part of it to verified firms whose mandate fits, without naming the company; you see a firm’s name once it says it’s interested.

Can a GP raise from LPs here?

Yes. Fund managers raising and LPs allocating are complementary positions. A manager states the fund the way an LP screens it (fund number, vintage, strategy, target and hard cap, minimum commitment, track record and terms), an LP states what it invests in, and introductions show how the two line up. As everywhere else, both sides accept before identities are exchanged — which matters more in fundraising than almost anywhere.

Do you handle secondaries?

Yes, both sides: selling a fund position and buying one are complementary positions.

Can I connect with other firms without a specific deal?

Yes. Plenty of useful investor relationships are exploratory — understanding another firm's thesis, finding a partner for future deals, or comparing notes on a sector. State that as your intent and you will be matched with firms doing the same.

Credit and structure

Does this work for private credit?

Yes. Lenders seeking borrowers and companies seeking credit are complementary positions, matched on facility size, sector and structure.

What about minority stakes, growth equity or majority buyouts?

All are criteria on your intent rather than separate products. State what you actually do and you are matched against owners who want that specific thing — which is usually where a mismatched conversation goes wrong.

How matching works for investors

How do you match on sector?

You select from a structured list of 112 industries grouped into sectors, rather than typing free text. That means an investor in B2B SaaS is matched precisely with B2B SaaS, closely with adjacent software, and not at all with freight — no guessing about what either side meant by a word.

How many introductions will I get?

As many as genuinely fit, up to your weekly allowance. We would rather introduce you to three companies that match your mandate than thirty that do not — the constraint is deliberate, because a feed of marginal deals is the thing you already have too much of.

Can my whole team use one account?

Yes. On the Team plan the firm’s owner invites colleagues as admins or members. Everyone works the same deal-flow board, with an owner, a next step and team notes on each deal; admins also answer introductions for the firm. A firm can sign in through its identity provider (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID or Google Workspace), and an audit log records who did what.

What stops me being pitched by companies I have no interest in?

You are never contacted by anyone you have not accepted. There is no inbox to pitch into, no browsing of investors, and no way to message you first — which is the entire difference between this and every other platform where you have been found.

State your mandate

Set up the firm, state a mandate, and you are matched only with companies and firms seeking exactly what you described.
